Japan Tourism Video Project
For the Japan Tourism Video Project, students were asked to make a 10-minute video to teach foreign tourists about a local area in Japan (Kansai, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Hyougo, etc.), Japanese culture, food, and language. After each video presentation, 5 minutes were given for a questions and answers time from the teacher and other class members.

"My Life in Japan" Videos
In this video, students introduced themselves and showed their daily routine while living in Japan. In addition to their daily routine, students were also asked to demonstrate an activity that they do in their daily lives and to introduce an aspect of Japanese culture.

Demonstration Videos
For the Demonstration Video Project, students worked together in groups of 3 or 4. The purpose of this project was to use casual English to demonstrate how to do or make something (a how-to/do-it-yourself video). Videos were to be both informative and entertaining. Video length: 5-6 minutes. Language focus: Demonstrating and presenting a process of steps in order to do an activity or make a product.

Product-Review Videos
For the Product-Review Video Project, students worked together in groups of 3 or 4. The purpose of this project was to use casual English to review similar products. Videos should also be informative and entertaining. Video length: 5-6 minutes. Language focus: Description, comparison, stating opinions, agreement/disagreement, etc.

Invention CommercialsStudents in my communication classes make 1-minute video commercials to promote original inventions that they imagined and developed in teams. These are some of the videos that they created. The language objectives were to use descriptive and persuasive language to promote and sell an original product using multi-media, video technology.
